Are you down on the South coast with the kids this half-term?
There’s an abundance of things to do in the local area around Crouchers Orchards, with an interesting mix of countryside, coast and city.
The only city in West Sussex and home to a beautiful 900 year old characterful cathedral, Chichester has a wealth of history. Perfect for a spot of shopping, Chichester boasts 4 connected high streets full of high street names and quirky individual boutique businesses. Or if shopping isn’t your thing, the Southdowns Planetarium has a range of fascinating talks and displays on during half-term such as ‘stars on frosty winter nights’ or ‘Distant worlds – alien life’. They’re a great way for you and the kids to learn something new about the world we live in, all whilst having fun too.
Are you in need of a breath of fresh air?
Right on our doorstep is an area of outstanding natural beauty and it’s home to one of the largest marinas in the country, Chichester Marina. Full of wildlife, Chichester Marina is an ideal spot for exploring nature in a nautical environment. There are plenty of walking routes that can be discovered and we recommend the Chichester Marina to Dell Quay self guided walk which can be found here.
How about some fresh air on 2 wheels?
Why not join the Salterns Way cycle route at the Chichester Marina. The Salterns Way stretches 12 miles from the centre of Chichester to the beautiful sand dunes of East Head. It’s a great ride to do with the family as you cover coast, countryside and city. Grab a picnic and explore the area on two wheels! Route maps and instructions can be found here.
It’s raining, it’s pouring…
Although the forecast is looking good for half-term here in Chichester, if it does decide to rain then don’t let it stop you from having fun!
Chichester Golf Club boasts a brand new indoor adventure golf course – Ocean Paradise. It’s great fun for all the family and is only a 2 minute drive from our estate! Opening times and prices can be found here.
Pallant House Gallery in the center of Chichester is a wonderful insight into all things art and we’d definitely recommend a visit if it’s a bit drizzly outside. It’s a great opportunity for the kids to learn about modern day art and hopefully find something that may inspire them. Under 18’s are free to enter so make the most of your family break. Information on exhibitions and pricing can be found here.
Chichester has plenty more to offer than just what we’ve mentioned and you can find out more about our local area, and a little further afield, here.
